The musical, "THAT'LL BE THE DAY" – named after the 1957 hit that made Buddy Holly a star – reviews the short life of the rock'n'roll legend. ... more It is a musical homage to Holly, who was celebrated as a world star in the mid 1950s, who shared the stage with other music idols like Bill Haley and Elvis and who was the first white artist to perform at the Apollo Theatre in New York. A public enticed by more than 30 hits – like "Peggy Sue", "Oh Boy" and "Words of Love" – in the period of the wild 50s! The highlight of the tribute show is Holly's last concert in 1959, at which the 22-year-old musician shared the stage with "The Big Bopper" and Ritchie Valans ("La Bamba"). After the concert Holly and his fellow musicians lost their lives in a aeroplane crash. In "THAT'LL BE TH DAY" he lives again – Buddy, with his guitar, his black horn-rimmed glasses and his world hits. less
